The Mona ICT Policy Centre at the UWI in partnership with the global Internet Society (ISOC) will host the 2nd National Conference on "Cyber Security and Data Protection: Securing Businesses and Public Transactions" on November 20-21, 2014 at the Regional Headquarters of UWI. Also associated with the event are the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and CARIMAC.

Recognising the upsurge in ICT-based crimes locally and globally, the accompanying threats to businesses, governments and individuals and the need for concerted action, the Mona ICT Policy Centre, Mona School of Business and Management will be hosting a high-level conference on Cyber Security and Digital Forensics. The conference will be held at the UWI, Mona campus September 30-October 1, 2013 and is being organised in association with the Internet Society (ISoc) and in partnership with the law firm of Henlin-Gibson-Henlin. The objective is to provide information to stakeholders on the various types of cyber threats, discuss the key legal, regulatory and ethical issues and major developments in the area. The conference also aims to provide public education for persons with little or no knowledge and make training and reform proposals for Cyber Security and Digital Forensics.
